Challenge: An industry pioneer and leading retailer, the company outsourced IT infrastructure, applications development and application maintenance function since 1991. They wanted to modernize their mission critical systems to enhance operating efficiency and to improve customer service.

Solution: They engaged IBM Applications on DemandTM to implement Lotus Notes®/Domino®, Lawson's Financial Suite, SofTech's Direct Store Delivery and manage an upgrade to their point-of-sale controllers and registers. The IBM team also assists with defining IT strategies and selecting software packages. Outsourced services fully support 1,600 desktops and manage the upgrades to servers and networks.

Results:

They are realizing enhanced functionality, significant costs savings by transferring functions to IBM, and overall improved service to their customers.
