IBM Implementation Services for System p – AIX 5L is designed to facilitate a quick and effective installation of your IBM System p™ server and the IBM AIX® 5L™ operating system (OS). Trained and experienced IBM Global Technology Services specialists implement the AIX 5L OS and help get your new server solution up and running with limited disruption to your server infrastructure, usually in two days or less. The service is designed to help you with:
Connecting agreed-upon IBM-supported peripherals that you provide
Installing the AIX 5L OS
Defining a single AIX user ID
Creating a system image backup
Providing skills transfer to your personnel
Documenting installation activities.
IBM also offers other services to help optimize your new System p server, including services for partitioning your system p servers, installing additional software products, configuring network and security components, and creating and configuring a Network Installation Management (NIM) server.
