Although s.Oliver had a Web site in place, it wasn't equipped to conduct sales, and with e-business becoming a high-demand sales channel, the company risked losing business to other online textile shops if it did not revamp its Web site.

IBM Business Consulting Services

IBM Business Consulting Services created a technical draft of the new s.Oliver Online Shop based upon the client's specified needs, then worked with IBM Business Partner Listec to implement WebSphere Commerce Professional Edition V5.5 software with clustered Hewlett-Packard servers running the SUSE LinuxV8 operating system.

Results

As a result of the new online shop, the company was able to open an additional sales channel to maintain its competitive edge and realize additional revenue. Additionally, s.Oliver was able to capitalize on other marketing opportunities like online coupons and promotions.
