Case study Company name: Panasonic Corporation of North America
Panasonic Corporation of North America implements a critical Web site with a tight deadline and budget, developed and installed by IBM Global Business Services. |

Business need | Panasonic North America had committed to providing a website to support partners using software it was developing. Each partner required a secure, customized environment, inaccessible by other partners. The timeline was tight, and Panasonic did not have the resources to do the job. |
Solution | IBM Global Business Services evaluated alternatives and recommended the third party tool Kayako SupportSuite, which provided much of the required functionality out of the box. The IBM team designed, developed, tested and implemented the system, including customizations, on time and under budget. The system is hosted using IBM Strategic Outsourcing, and will be supported by IBM Application Management Services. |
Results Panasonic avoided contract penalties and maintained good business partner and customer relationships by delivering the support site on time. Hiring IBM to deliver the solution allowed the R&D team to focus on its end product which is its business, rather than divert resources to the development of the support site. As a result of the solution, Panasonic met its contractual obligations with its business partners by providing the support site on time. With this support site, R&D can easily communicate with the vendors of the OCAP software, and securely provide them code updates and documentation. The R&D staff has been trained in the use of the support site, and has incorporated the administration work into their other business processes. |
Customer testimonial | “No other team could have done what IBM did in that amount of time. It was amazing.” Tom Beegle, Senior Manager, IT Systems, and IT Liason to Panasonic North America CIO |
