In keeping with the IBM Business Partner® Charter, in our commitment to team with Business Partners for services delivery, IBM is announcing a new worldwide Business Partner relationship type called Services Provider.
This new Business Partner relationship will recognize firms for their services delivery capabilities and will enable us to team with each other to pursue opportunities in the worldwide information technology services marketplace.
The Services Provider Business Partner relationship is part of the IBM Worldwide Business Partner Agreement and is being announced in support of the IBM worldwide services delivery strategy. The Services Provider Business Partner Type has specific selection criteria associated with being approved for this new relationship. An initial set of IBM services offerings will also be announced in selected geographies with worldwide implementation over the next year.
Services Providers are authorized to perform and deliver IBM approved services based on the firm services offering and personnel qualification criteria. IBM will identify selected services offerings and license the use of the intellectual capital to assist authorized Services Providers in the development and/or delivery of their own branded services. This includes packaged offerings from IBM and Business Partners, as well as competencies, capabilities, and methodologies for target market segments.
As a result of our commitment in the IBM Business Partner Charter, we are introducing an exciting new IBM Business Partner type — Services Provider — designed to jointly develop and deliver services to customers.
