As part of our Global Chief Supply Chain Officer Study, we spoke at length with 33 automotive supply chain executives. Like their peers across industries, these executives are most concerned about supply chain visibility. But they also are wrestling with cost containment, increasing customer demands, risk and globalization.
By comparing automotive responses to the collective views across industries and to those of top supply chains worldwide, we can offer insights on potential opportunities for improvement. The main takeaway: greater efficiency will help automotive companies begin to close these gaps but to make step-change improvements, automotive supply chains will need to become much smarter.
