IBM services specialists can save migration time by moving your data, applications, or DASD while maintaining your productivity. With AS/400 Data Migration, you transfer the tasks to IBM services specialists who are experienced at performing data migrations. This is accomplished by one of the two following methods:
- DASD to tape to DASD
- DASD to DASD
To deliver this service, IBM services specialists come to your site and:
- Plan the migration
- Determine your migration path requirements
- Create the proposed migration plan
- Review the system with you to ensure that the disk unit configuration functions properly
- Provide a time estimate of how long it will take to perform the migration
- Implement the proposed migration plan
- Verify that the DASD contains the data from the original system
