With IBM GIAS you have multiple deployment choices. When choosing you will need to consider your IT department's strengths and weaknesses, the front- and back-end tools and applications that will be integral to your processing goals and objectives, and, how you will deploy and operate those systems. We can help you analyze which deployment model might best fit your organization's needs through an IT assessment consulting engagement. Meanwhile, here is a summary of those possible deployment models for IBM GIAS.

LICENSE Model

In a LICENSE Model IBM GIAS is deployed in your computer environment. You will pay a one-time fee to license the software application from IBM for a specified time under a mutually agreed upon contract that can include a maintenance support agreement. Since IBM GIAS is platform and database independent you will choose the most advantageous hardware and operating system configurations that will support the policy administration application as well as any additional tools and applications in your computing environment. IBM is available to provide sizing algorithms and consulting assistance in choosing the appropriate computing machine for your unique IT needs.

SaaS Model

In a SaaS Model, IBM handles the system services. System "rental" includes a base charge and a per-policy fee based on the number of polices or certificates on the system. In addition to having access to the system, organizations using the SaaS model have access to a wide range of bundled services to keep a business running. This may include day-to-day technology support related to a hosted environment including data backups, off-site storage of backup media and basic access to contracted recovery sites. Major infrastructure includes Internet access, firewall, virus protection, VPN facility, servers, help desk support and data server capacity. Various consulting services are also available to organizations including implementation, conversion, modification/customization, integration, project management and business consulting. While all of these services are provided by our expert technicians, your company is responsible for verification, acceptance and certification of the system.

OUTSOURCE Model

If you opt to choose an OUTSOURCE model, IBM handles the System and Client Support Services. IBM has wide and deep experience with handling all sizes of blocks of life and health insurance portfolios of business.
