Martina Platts
Martina is a Biochemistry graduate and worked as an HR/Industrial Relations manager for eight years, in the Courage Group and the Nabisco Group. She joined Coopers & Lybrand as a Consultant in 1986 - and has delivered in HR and Finance process, systems and organisational change, working for a wide variety of blue chip companies and government bodies across all sectors.
After five years working on secondment in Turkey and South Africa, Martina was fortunate enough to be sponsored to study for an MBA.
More recently, Martina has travelled the world working with Procter & Gamble on the first IBM Global Business Services Human Resources Business Transformation Outsourcing engagement.
Prior to becoming Service Line Leader, Martina was responsible for the IBM UK Human Capital Management practice.
Luq Niazi
Luq joined the management consulting division of Coopers & Lybrand in 1997 which merged with Price Waterhouse in 1998 to form PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (PwCC) and was subsequently acquired by IBM in 2002 to form IBM Global Business Services - the world's largest consulting and systems integration organisation. As the Managing Partner of the Strategy and Change Group in the UK & Ireland, Luq manages Partners and Staff who specialise in Business Strategy, Operations Strategy, Organisation Change Strategy and Technology Strategy across our business sectors.
Luq has over 15 years of experience in Industrial, Communications, Distribution and Public Sector with a strong track record of large scale and first of a kind business and technology transformations for both multinational and national clients. His experience includes industry restructuring, new operating model design & implementation, new ventures, business process transformation, organisation design & change management, cost reduction, programme and project management, PFI/PPP & outsourcing and a full range of IT advisory and delivery work. He is particularly interested in business transformation and growth through innovation and technology and helping client's envision, design and realise their strategy objectives through a strong focus on results.
Prior to joining the firm Luq was a project manager in the air traffic industry specialising in privately financed programmes to design, build and operate air traffic control services throughout Scotland and Northern England. He holds a BSc in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Loughborough University and a MBA from The Management School, Imperial College, London.
Ian McMillan
In over 20 years of consulting Ian has worked with a wide range of organisations including BP, Sony, BBC, Siemens, Chevron and Wolseley. He has helped these clients improve their financial performance and effectiveness through a range of advisory and delivery assignments including strategic profitability analysis, finance department reorganisation, finance systems implementation and disposal or acquisition implementation.
He leads IBM's Financial Management consulting practice in the UK, Ireland and South Africa and in this role he continues to work with clients in conjunction with leading IBM's continuing development of innovative solutions in response to today's CFO challenges of globalisation and increasing compliance.
Graham Whitney
Graham is on the Leadership Team of Global Business Services in UKI, responsible for Strategy, Marketing and a wide portfolio of Change initiatives; he is also the Leader of the Supply Chain Management Practice in UKI
He has been a Management Consultant for more than 25 years, becoming Partner in Coopers & Lybrand in the early 1990s which, in turn merged to become PriceWaterhouseCoopers and eventually IBM Business Consulting.
He has specialised in the areas of strategy and organisational change, providing senior level advice to CEOs and Boardroom Executives in how to plan for and manage major change; working across a wide range of industries, including technology, electronics, utilities, and business services. His roles have included a variety of executive posts in the Industrial, Technology and Small and Medium Business Sectors, and a number of global client relationship management roles for Philips, Sony, Sun and Invensys.
Sean Tickle
Sean is a highly experienced human capital management professional with 15 years consulting and outsourcing experience at Coopers & Lybrand, PricewaterhouseCoopers
and IBM Global Business Services. Prior to working in consulting, Sean was an operational HR manager in industry. He leads a UK and Ireland team of 200 HR and HRIT professionals working across all industry sectors in addition to leveraging many hundreds of IBMs global delivery staff. The team support client delivery of programme management, human resource management and change management aspects of major business transformational change and improvement, facilitated through people, process, technology, shared services and outsourcing. Clients have included AkzoNobel, Co-operative Financial Services, BAT, Department for Transport, Procter & Gamble, BP, Barclays Bank , Xerox and the BBC.
Mark Guinibert
Mark has 20 years experience in consulting and has worked extensively across public and private sector organisations, primarily in the Financial Services sector. He is UK-based and leads our CRM practice in UK, Ireland and South Africa drawing on his experience of large scale, sales, service and marketing transformation projects.
Mark has worked with clients across Europe including LTSB, Barclays, Goldman Sachs, Rabobank & ABN Amro.His roles have centred around enabling these clients to shape and implement large scale technology enabled change programmes to deliver value for shareholders, customers and employees.
Mark Salthouse
Mark leads the IBM Global Business Services Business Analytics and Optimisation practice in the UK and Ireland.
Business analytics and optimisation helps organisations to make better decisions and optimise enterprise performance by combining strategy, information management, and advanced analytics, while using the power of smarter technology to address important and complex issues. The consulting practice delivers services in business intelligence and performance management, together with analytics, optimisation and the gathering, storing and delivery of structured and unstructured information.
During a 23 year career in consultancy with Price Waterhouse, PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM, Mark has developed and delivered business intelligence and systems integration projects across a number of countries and industries. Mark has specialised in business intelligence problems and solutions since the mid 1990s.
Mark's projects in recent years have been in Retail, Life Sciences and Financial Services, in addition to a two year assignment leading all IT development and services for the DVLA, one of the largest information factories in the UK.
Mark studied Mathematics as an undergraduate at Pembroke College, Cambridge before studying Computer Science as a post-grad. He lives in Central London and has three children who keep him very busy as a taxi driver. He has a passion for cricket, coaching a youth team in Colchester.
Varun Bijilani
Varun joined IBM in 2002 with the acquisition of the PwC Consulting business where he was an ERP specialist in the Oil & Gas Sector. Prior to that he was in process re-engineering with Andersen Consulting (Accenture). Varun became Partner in the IBM in 2008 and shortly after was named head of the SAP Practice.
With a post-graduate diploma from Bristol Business School, a Bachelor in Engineering from Bombay University and executive development at Harvard Business School, Varun combines deep technical knowledge and large programme management experience with strategic and operational leadership heading up one of IBM’s largest service lines in the UK & Ireland.
Varun has led major SAP enabled global change programmes with Oil & Gas companies like BP, BG Group & Shell where he holds long-standing senior executive relationships. He is passionate about working in close collaboration with clients, developing the skills and expertise of his people and delivering value beyond expectations.
