IBM has announced four new small- and medium-sized business (SMB) offerings that simplify the maintenance and management of companies' back-end infrastructure. The new offerings come just one week after IBM unveiled its desktop management services solution. The new Express Portfolio solutions include IBM Network Operations and Management Services, where IBM Global Services will provide around-the-clock monitoring and management of a company's complete computing infrastructure. From a remote location, IBM will follow network performance and system health, publish monthly and real-time reports online, and deliver necessary software and firmware updates. The other new offerings include IBM Infrastructure Recovery Services that will help SMBs take the first step toward protecting their companies from unexpected business interruptions. A two-day consulting workshop will formulate a customised recovery plan, and a pre-configured  iSeries or pSeries system is included for emergency data backup. The IBM Infrastructure Management Express Portfolio Solution for iSeries simplifies the management environment for applications running on that platform.
