Recent changes in IBM's executive structure show emphasis on services and the company's e-business on demand business strategy. IBM CFO John Joyce will take over as IBM Global Services head, bringing with him financial services acumen and proven operational experience. Former IBM Global Services leader Doug Elix will now run IBM's sales and distribution operation, and is expected to deepen the sales organisation's understanding and application of on demand philosophy. With Elix in charge, IBM sales will likely sell more holistic solutions, including IBM Business Consulting Services arrangements, in the future. Similarly, IBM Global Services should become more operationally efficient with Joyce's guidance, and able to scale and perform according to the company's expectations. Elix had grown IBM Global Services revenue to 52 percent of overall company income, and IBM plans for even greater services growth. Copyright 2004 INFORMATION, INC. |
