Physical device installation
Instead of dedicating productive internal staff to simple equipment unpacking and placement chores, let IBM onsite technicians accept delivery of your equipment at the IBM e-business Hosting™ Center; enter it into our asset tracking system, place it in your cabinet, rack, shelf or cage; and dispose of any packing materials. The service is performed at a fixed cost per device, making it both practical and affordable.
IBM can install your IBM and non-IBM servers in the e-business Hosting Centre, configure and test the equipment, and install and test your network connections. The service is designed for client-owned servers that will be managed by IBM or your own personnel. By having IBM handle installation, your personnel can focus on application and content loading and configuration, avoiding the need for onsite support, if they so desire.
Operating system software installation
IBM can install a consistent, tested and hardened version of your selected operating system, using a highly efficient, automated process to help you achieve a more stable server platform. Each software build includes a base operating system, plus monitoring tools and agents required for additional services from IBM. The latest fixes and security patches are also incorporated to keep the configurations current with industry standards. Once the build is tested for basic startup and connectivity, administrative access is turned over to you for ongoing management.
Standard managed support
When time and skills are in short supply, our standard managed support service allows you to delegate routine management of your servers in the IBM e-business Hosting Centre to IBM so your personnel can focus on resolving complex issues and developing new applications. The service includes initial system configuration, day-to-day system administration and server support for client-owned servers. IBM assumes a proactive role in responding to any alerts that are generated by our system monitoring tools.
