IBM Implementation Services for Virtual Tape Server (VTS) advanced policy management (APM) is designed to extend your existing VTS and VTS peer-to-peer (PtP) implementation services to include the new Advanced Policy Management functions. These functions include:
a new cache management algorithm initiated through the library manager,
the capability to selectively dual copy logical Virtual Tape Server volumes,
the capability to specify immediate or deferred copy at the logical volume level for Virtual Tape Server PtP installations or the capability to set up separate physical tape pools of VTS stacked cartridges.
